Homeless commercial

The message in this video is that “every penny that you give to homeless people, you are supporting their use of drugs”. That “there’s a better way to make a difference – through donation”. In the first 20 seconds, the video showed the harsh reality of what homelessness can sometimes look like. The sound, tone, colour and image were quite slow and sombre. Another positive point on the ad is they used actors of different age and nationality.

After 24 seconds when the main message is delivered, it assumes that everyone living on the street has a drug problem – which is not true. Although the ad is promoting hope through donation, the association of drugs should be removed. It could be replaced by how the homeless feel and how we can help through donations.
